Singing Country/Gospel — Sharing Love for the Lord!
Saturday, May 10 at 6:00 p.m.
On Saturday, May 10, a Country/Gospel concert will be presented at FBCJ by the non-profit Christian organization, Music City Christian Fellowship. The concert features special artist and Grammy winner, Linda Davis. Diannne Sherrill, Casey Rivers and our own Judy Gilbert will also perform. The Emcee for the concert will be Lynn Fox of the Fox Brothers. Lynn is president of Music City Christian Fellowship. Admission to this event is free and everyone is invited.
LINDA DAVIS
Linda Davis is a winner of a Grammy award for Best Country Vocal Collaboration for the song, Does He Love You?, sung with Reba McEntire. Through the years, Linda has sung to sold-out crowds with Garth Brooks, George Strait, Reba McEntire and Kenny Rogers. Linda appeared on the soundtrack for the motion picture Black Dog starring Patrick Swayze. She partnered with another superstar, Randy Travis, to record the song, Make It Through, which was included in the gold-selling companion CD for the award winning movie Prince of Egypt. Linda's latest CD is titled, I Have Arrived, and has received rave reviews.
DIANNE SHERRILL
Dianne Sherrill, a “Singer of the Gospel,” has a powerful vocal delivery and stage presence with appearances on Hee-Haw, TNN (The Nashville Network), the Ryman Auditorium, and the Grand Ole Opry House. Dianne firmly says, “God gave me a new heart; it's washed in the blood and that's where I'm singing from now.”
CASEY RIVERS
Casey Rivers, first runner-up as a finalist on USA's Nashville Star in 2006, has recorded two outstanding CDs titled Elvis Tribute, and Once Was Enough (a gospel album). Casey sings a powerful rendition of How Great Thou Art.
JUDY GILBERT
Judy Gilbert, a gospel singer who has a ministry in churches, nursing homes, men's and women's rescue missions, and prisons. Judy's dynamic voice enables her to sing gospel songs with spiritual feeling that is sure to touch your heart. She has performed at the Ryman Auditorium and Grand Ole Opry House.
All artists will donate their performance at this concert. A love offering will be taken to benefit the Annual 29th Country/Gospel program, Sunday Mornin’ Country® to be held in Nashville on Sunday, June 8 at 2:30 p.m.. at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Sunday Mornin' Country® was originally trademarked and held on Sunday morning, but is now held on Sunday afternoon for the attendance of more local church goers, and country music fans visiting Nashville from all over the world for the four-day (June 5-8) Country Music Association Music Festival.
