We have a need for volunteers in the following service areas:
Check-In Attendants Needed - We are in need of Check-In Attendants at the check-in
stations for preschool and children on both floors. If you would be interested in helping us with this important
job, contact Bro. Michael. Training will be provided.
Shut-In Ministry - Becky West is compiling a database of shut-ins, and we hope to be able to match volunteers to shut-ins, providing an opportunity to build a rapport between the two and enabling volunteers to identify and help to meet the needs of the shut-in on a very personal level. Volunteers will use a checkllist to assess such needs as safety issues, food availability, housekeeping, dementia, medical equipment, etc. We have doctor and nurse volunteers to provide advice on meeting medical needs, as well as resources for medical supplies, glasses and medical equipment. Anyone who is interested in becoming involved in this ministry should contact the church office.
CEF Help Needed - The McAllisters need help one afternoon every other month stuffing
newsletters and getting them ready for mailing. Please contact John or Lynn at
844-3551 if you have time to assist.
Nursing Home Ministry - S.A.L.T. (Senior Adult Leadership Team) is looking for seniors
who can sing/act/move to ENGAGE in a new ministry initially for nursing homes and
shut-ins. If interested, please contact Herb or Diane Berry at 615-746-3568.
Sewing Ministry - Peggy West, Betty Fletcher and Ardi Broome have organized a sewing/quilting club which is currently sewing pillow case dresses for orphans in Uganda and Haiti, lap throws for Christain Care Rest Home in Ashland City, and adult bibs for our shut-in meals ministry. If you are interested in sewing and would like to join us, please contact Peggy at 876-2525. If you don't sew, you can help by donating new or gently used pillow cases, or even sheets. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated.
Card & Letter Ministry - This groups sends cards and
letters to encourage and minister to others. We meet at the church office at
8:30 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Volunteers may contact
the office to sign up.
Shut-in Meals - Prepare and/or deliver meals to the church's shut-ins on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week. Contact Arene Gregory at 876-0317 or Sarah Anderson at 876-4709 for more information.
Rescue Mission - Join this ministry as they lead monthly worship services at the Rescue Mission. Men's Mission service is held every third Monday of the month - Contact: Vernon Latham (615-347-2003). Women's Mission service is held every fourth Monday - Contact: Linda Carol Royalty (615-876-4643).
Church Greeter - From the parking lot to the door, assist and greet people as they arrive at church. Contact Donald Brinson at 382-2608 or Steve Robinson at 419-0060.
Usher - Assist in seating and directing people to where they need to go. Contact Donald Brinson at 382-2608 or Steve Robinson at 419-0060.
Office Angels - Assist or cover for our clerical staff during the week when needed. For more information, contact the church receptionist at 876-0527.
Prison Ministry - Join this team as they lead weekly Bible studies, distribute care packages, and minister in our local prisons. Contact Pastor David Royalty for more information.
