Guatemala Mission Trip 2026
1) Are you called by God to go on this Mission Project?
While every Believer is called to a missional lifestyle, your motivation for going onto any mission field must be, “Is God directing me to this specific endeavor?”
2) Are you ready for the challenges of the mission field?
- Spiritual maturity is a must for any Believer entering into a ministry. You don’t have to be a spiritual
giant, but a mission trip is no place for shallow faith Christians or those just looking for a fun group vacation.
- Emotional & Relationship instability can be a real detriment to the team’s central goal of demonstrating
Christ. If there’s strife in your life, your home, or marriage it winds up coming with you and distracts what God
desires to accomplish in the lives of those we encounter on the field.
- Physical health is a priority as there is a lot of exertion in walking and hiking to locations, the climate
challenges, and not to mention getting through airports.
3) Be prepared to put in the time before we go “wheels-up.”
- Application & Interview: Confirming this project is a good fit for you and the team.
- Team building that prepares you in witnessing and interacting with people of other cultures.
- Prayer gatherings where we meet to commit ourselves and this project to God.
- Personal discipleship: commitment to Bible study, Scripture memorization, and prayer.
- Skill development: Making sure you know your role when we hit the mission field.
4) What will we doing there?
- We will be building a home for a family in small village outside of Antigua.
- We will be visiting homes delivering food bags, water filtration units, and bibles
(most don’t own one themselves) and sharing the Gospel, praying, encouraging, and sharing in their lives. - We will be partnering with ministry centers and schools doing children’s outreach and VBS
- We will spend time learning the history and culture of Guatemala and its people.
5) Count the cost: Your part- $1000 (air fare there and back)
- Passport Book ($165) which can take a 6-8 weeks and requires documentation
If you don’t have one—that’s first priority! You cannot book intl. flights without it. - Each team member’s on-field expenses approx. $800 for week: FBCJ sponsoring
(Lodging, food, ground transportation, free day excursion) - House Build: $5500- sponsored by FBCJ
- Air fare around $1000 round trip
- Personal spending money- $150-200 for incidentals and shopping
6) Fundraising Goals:

Commission and will be our guides and interpreters all week. Maggie Edenfield is the
Project Manager and will be with us from the moment we land to departure at the end of the week.
