Volunteers Needed…How Can You Serve?

Character Coaches are a part of the Upward Ministry Team. They are FBCJ members who have the responsibility of leading devotionals during practices, communicating directly with parents/families, and attending Saturday game days. Our Character Coaches partner with basketball/cheer coaches to ensure that our sports program is gospel-centered. Upward’s goal is to teach children biblical truth through sports.

Our Guest Services team consists of door greeters and concession workers. Door greeters are the first to welcome in Upward families and assist the Safety Team with ensuring our guests are in the appropriate areas of the church. Concession workers restock the food, snacks, and drinks in the kitchen, take orders from guests, and handle monetary transactions. This team has the responsibility of representing FBCJ in the way they speak to and serve our Upward families. Once you have registered to be a part of the Guest Services team, an Upward commissioner will contact you with a sign-up sheet for Saturday games and times.

Our Safety Team is a group of FBCJ members who walk around the church during Upward games, check on our volunteers, and monitor guests. The goal of the Safety Team is to ensure all guests are in the appropriate areas of the church used during Upward games. Once you have registered to be a part of the Safety team, an Upward commissioner will contact you with a sign-up sheet for Saturday games and times.
